Continental WinterContact TS 870 P is the test winner at AUTO BILD sportscars

Hanover, October 7, 2025 – In its latest winter tire test, AUTO BILD sportscars has named Continental’s WinterContact TS 870 P as the test winner with an overall grade of 1.3. "A confident all-rounder with the sportiest dry handling performance" is how the tire and testing experts at AUTO BILD sportscars summarized their verdict. The editorial team tested a total of eleven winter tires in size 235/50 R19. The test vehicle used was an Audi Q3 Sportback 45 TFSI quattro.
In the test categories of snow handling, dry handling, dry braking, and rolling resistance, Continental’s winter specialist received the highest ratings among all manufacturers. Overall, the editorial team awarded the WinterContact TS 870 P a 1- for the four snow disciplines, a 2 for the five wet disciplines, and again a 1- for the five criteria on dry asphalt.
The WinterContact TS 870 P was developed for high-performance mid-size and premium-class cars as well as SUVs. Its product range includes rim sizes from 16 to 22 inches, tire widths from 205 to 325 millimeters, and aspect ratios from 30 to 70 percent. Many models also feature an XL marking for increased load capacity and a rim protection rib.
